Welcome to my 'Soapbox'

In the wake of the heinous attacks on America on 09/11/01 there have been many opinions and viewpoints expressed.
Here are some of my opinions.
If you agree or disagree, I would like to hear from you.
I warn you, however, that if you disagree with me and simply flame me, I will not deign to reply.
If you cannot present your case reasonably, and simply resort to name calling I will not respond.
If you wish to disagree with me and can do so in a civilized manner, I will gladly engage in a dialog.

This message is addressed to all the Christians in America.

I was asked to give my Testamony at the Men's Ministry meeting at Miracle Baptist Church.
This was given the week of the Fourth of July.
I know Grandma has made copies of this and mailed to most of the family, but I'm posting this for those that have not seen it yet.

Another thing that I have noticed is that, while there is an amazing upsurge in Patriotism in this country,
there is an appalling lack of knowledge of the most basic concepts of freedom.
This Nation was founded by men that understood that a strong Faith in God is of utmost importance.
Our founding Fathers also understood that Freedom can be had only through the high price of Military Victory.
I have actually heard people (adults) say that the do not know the words to the
Pledge of Allegiance, God Bless America, or the Star Spangled Banner!
Personally, I believe that everyone in this country should know the Pledge of Allegiance.
It should be recited daily in all schools.
If you will not swear Allegiance to this great nation, I suggest that you leave now!

Here are the words of the Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the flag
Of the United States of America.
And to the Republic for which it stands,
One nation, under God, indivisible,
With liberty and justice for all.

Here I provide the words to some the songs that I think every American should know. Song Lyrics

A FEW QUOTES
FROM AMERICA'S BEGINNINGS

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians;
not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ."
- Patrick Henry

"We have staked the whole future of America's civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it.
We have staked the future of all our political institutions ...
upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."
- James Madison

"And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis -
a conviction in the minds of people that these Liberties are the gift of God?
That they are not to be violated but with His Wrath?
Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just:
that His Justice cannot sleep forever."
- Thomas Jefferson

"He who shall introduce into the public affairs the principles of primitive Christianity will change the face of the world."
- Benjamin Franklin
